Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Petboostery online store collects, why, who receives it, and the choices and rights you have. We sell to customers in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Honduras.
Who we are
The Petboostery store is run by Ricardo Josué Zelaya Argueta, trading as Petboostery, Residencial Andalucía, San Pedro Sula 21101, Cortés, Honduras. For any privacy question or request, write to ricardo@petboostery.com.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number if you give one.
- Order details: the products you buy, prices, shipping cost, order number, tracking numbers, and any returns, refunds or disputes.
- Payment details: PayPal collects your payment details directly. We never receive your full card number or your PayPal password. We receive a confirmation of payment, the amount, and basic payer details such as name and email.
- Your messages: what you write to us and our replies.
- Device and browsing data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you reached the store. Shopify collects this through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
- Marketing choice: whether you agreed to receive marketing emails.
We collect this information from you, automatically when you use the store, and from PayPal and the carriers that deliver your order (for example, tracking updates). We do not ask for or use sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers or precise location.
How we use it
- To take, ship and deliver your order, and to email you about it.
- To process payments, refunds and returns.
- To answer your questions and handle complaints and disputes.
- To protect the store and our customers against fraud and misuse.
- To keep the records that tax, accounting and consumer laws require.
- To understand how the store is used, so we can improve it.
- To send marketing emails, only if you agreed to receive them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and order emails keep coming after you unsubscribe.
Who receives it
We share only what each company needs to do its job for us:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout, stores order records, sends our order emails, and helps detect fraud.
- PayPal, which processes payments and refunds and handles payment disputes.
- DSers, an app connected to our Shopify store that passes each order to our supplier on AliExpress and brings back tracking numbers.
- AliExpress, the independent seller on AliExpress who ships your item, and their carriers, which receive your name, delivery address and phone number so they can deliver your order.
- Google (Google Workspace), our email service, which stores the messages you send us and our replies.
Each of these companies also handles data under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a buyer if the business is ever sold.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads that follow you across other sites). We do not share personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.
Cookies
Shopify sets cookies that keep your cart and checkout working and protect the store. Depending on the store's settings, Shopify may also set cookies that measure store visits. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block all of them, the cart and checkout may not work.
The store does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to handle returns, faulty-item claims, payment disputes, and our tax and accounting duties. After that, we delete or anonymize them. We keep messages you send us for as long as they relate to an open order or request, and marketing preferences until you unsubscribe.
Where it is processed
We operate from Honduras. Your information is processed in the United States, in Honduras, in the country we deliver your order to, and in China and other countries where AliExpress, its sellers and their carriers operate. Our service providers may also process it in other countries.
How we protect it
Payments happen on PayPal's secure pages, and our store runs on Shopify's platform, which protects data in transit and at rest. Within Petboostery, only the people who run the store can see your order details. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Know and access: tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we got it, why we use it and who receives it, and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information, except records we must keep by law or need to complete your order, handle a refund or dispute, or prevent fraud.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising. We do none of these today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first, add a "Do not sell or share my personal information" link, and treat Global Privacy Control browser signals as a valid opt-out.
You also have any other rights that the privacy law where you live gives you, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.
We will not treat you differently, charge you a different price or give you a worse service for using these rights.
How to make a request: write to ricardo@petboostery.com with the subject "Privacy request". To protect your information, we confirm your identity by matching your email address and an order number. You can use an authorized agent; we will ask for written proof that you gave them permission. We answer within 45 days, or sooner if the law where you live requires it. If we need more time and that law allows it, we tell you why within those 45 days and answer within 45 more days at most.
Appeals: if we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying with the subject "Privacy appeal". We answer the appeal within 45 days and explain our decision.
California residents
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the rights listed above. In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in this policy, and disclosed them for business purposes to the service providers listed under "Who receives it":
- Identifiers (name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address, order number).
- Customer records (name, address, phone number, payment confirmation).
- Commercial information (products bought, order, return and refund history).
- Internet activity (pages visited and device and browser details).
- Approximate location (derived from your IP address and delivery address).
We have not sold or shared personal information, including that of people under 16.
Children
The store is for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we also post a notice on the store, or email customers who have open orders, before it takes effect.
